Commercial.
The amount of revenue received at the Cus-tom-house on goods cleared for consumption this day, was L 1231 Ifs 6d. At the sale of sugars by Messrs MT.andress, Hepbum, and Co., to-day, there was a large attendance of buyers, but considering the scarcity of sugars in the market, biddings were not so brisk as might have been anticipated. This, to some extent, may be attributable to its being understood jithat the Hazel Home’s cargo will be offered on Friday. Two lines of ration sugars were placed at L3l lbs to L 32 bs per ton; two of good brown crystals fetched L 32 10s to L 32 12s Cd ; three parcels of brewers’ crystals fetched severally 1.37 10s, 1.37, and L 36 15s. Good yel’ows realised L3f 12s fid to 1.31 17s Cd; one line of best yellows was sold at L 36 os, and the remainder of the brand was withdrawn for higher prices. Second whites, inclining to grey, were sold at L 37 10s to L 37 17s 6d. The sale was proceeding when our reporter left.
