The schooner Crest of the Wave, ketch Fanny, and schooner Dunedin, sailed this morning for Oamaru. The brig Thomas and Henry, from Newcastle, arrived yesterday afternoon. She left Newcastle on the 6th, with a strong S W. gale to the 9th; the wind then came from the N. VV,; on the 13th suddenly shifted to the S.W.. with heavy hail squalls until the 15th, with heavy seas one of which carried away the companion; mssed the Solandcrs on the 21st, Stewart s Island on the 23rd, at 6 a m with a good g W breez", arriving at the Heads at 11 a.in. She brings 275 tons of coal and 14 tons coke, consigned to Messrs Brown ami Co. The ship Wild Duck, from Adelaide to London put iii yesterday afternoon, having sprung a leak a few days after leaving. Reports leaving Adelaide on the 9th, with line weather; on the 11th encountered heavy gale from the southward, with high seas, which increased to the 13th; ship making about six inches water per hour; from the loth to the strong north-west and north winds ; leak still increasing ; sighted the Snares on the 23rd; gale still blowing; both pumps a-t work ; ship making eleven inches water per hour; bore up for the Heads, which were sighted at 6 a.m. yesterday, and arrived as above. A survey will be made, when she will be docked if the leak is not found after she discharges part of the cargo. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Hokitika, September 24.-Arrived ; Alhambra ss , from Melbourne. The schooner Benclench. bound for Dunedin, has been piled up on the beach ; the tow-rope parted while she was being towed out by the p.s. litan. there Is a possibility of her getting off. _ LYTTELTON, September 24. —Arrived: iaranaki s.s., from Port Chalmers, noon ; Clematis, schooner, from Hobart Town ; Joliba, barque, and Silver Inning, brig, from Timaru, with loss of anchors and chains. Sailed : Schiehaluon, for London, 2 a.m.; the s.s. Maori claims L 11,992 14s 5d as salvage for towing her out of danger on Sunday last. , Wellington, September 20. Armed, Douglas, ship, from London, with 400 immi grants. Six deaths occurred on the passage, from small-pox and low fever. She is quarantined.
