It is with extreme pleasure I announce to my numerous customers and the public generally that I have just received, ex recent arrivals, New Goods for all the Departments. 1 could never say with greater conlidence that my Stock is highly fashionable, very fresh and well assorted. My Stock of Tweeds, Coatings, and Fancy Vestings was never so varied, the styles were never so beautiful, and the wearing qualities were never better. Gentlemen may rest assured that they will get as good (if not better) value at my establishment as at any other house in the Province. Gracefulness and comfort are particularly attended to in the get-up of all Garments, and general satisfaction to the Customer is the natural result. The shrinking of Tweeds is thorough, so that they can be washed as often as desired without fear of the result. As the encouragement of Native Industry is the order of the day, I am determined to make up Boys’ and Youths’ Clothing at the lowest possible prices. Indeed, the moderate prices 1 charge for Garments made on the premises does away with the necessity of encouraging Foreign labor, because taking into consideration the much greater wear that can be got out of clothing made to order, and the much greater comfort in wearing them, can be no two opinions; but that the one in the long run is much cheaper than the other, though possibly a few shillings more may have to be expended on the first outlay. Colonists should do all they can to support local industry when the value is equally good, and thus keep the money in the country. By encouraging Native Industry we are helping one another, and advancing the interests of the Province and Colony in the most natural, most sensible, and most pleasant way imaginable. It is pleasant to be able to state that the Colonists are beginning to be more fully alive to this grand fact, and happy results may be confidently looked forward to as a natural consequence. tt . Being full determined to make a stand against large profits, the new Goods now offered will rank as part of the best value submitted for sale in this City. All other requisites to complete a well-arranged department. SILK AND DRESS DEPARTMENT. Several new and good wearing Fabrics, from 10s 6d for 12 yards. A very elegant material termed the Tasso cloth, 15s 12 yards. Several new makes in Lustres are likely to form an important branch of commerce this season. Brocaded Lustres, Striped aud Figured Lustres, Plain Twill Lustres in all the new colors, and many other Fabrics well worthy inspection. All other departments are well supplied, A. R.
