To the Editor. Sir, —I should like to see some further explanation of the doctrine held apparently by the Rev. Mr Kininmont, that to have been wrecked and not drowned is a greater proof of Divine protection than to have escaped being wrecked at all. To me it is unintelligible, except on the theory that the vessel and passengers are respectively under the government of separate powers.—l am, &c., Dunedin, September 4.
