Mr Wodehouse, Earl Kimberley’s brother, is dead. Earl Kimberley’s youngest son is suffering from typhoid fever. Mr Monsell has resigned his office of Post-master-General. The Times advises the appointment of Mr Ayrton as his successor, and urges that Earl Howe should succeed the Duke of Argyll at the India Office. L 50,000 stock has been issued of the New Zealand Fibre Works Co. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. has declared an ad interim dividend at the rate of 10 per cent, per annum. The Financial Agents of the New Zealand Government to-day invite tenders for L 20.000 of 4 per cent, debentures, being a portion of the Imperial guaranteed million loan. The Directors of the National Bank of New Zealand have made a call of LI per share. The Pearl, flagship, left Lisbon for Australia on June 22, Lieutenant Fergusson, son of Sir James Fergussou, has sailed for New Zealand, to act as aide-de-camp to his father. The Rev. Dr Begg, of Edinburgh, has obtained leave from his Presbytery to visit New Zealand. Dr Featherston attended the banquet given by Earl Granville to the Shah of Persia. A combination of eight newspapers has just arranged for the publication simultaneously of a tale by the author of " Lady Audiey’s Secret,”
