A CORRECTION.

To the Editor. Sir, —In your last night's issue you state in your paragraph of the Mornington Band of Hope, that the chairman intimated that a prize would oe given to the best reciter among the young ladies of the Society at the next meeting ; whereas it should have been Mr Jones, of the Duncdin Band of Hope, who stood up at the close of the meeting, and intimated that he would give a basket of flowers to the young lady who gave the best recitation at the next fortnightly meeting. 'I he truth is, Mr Editor, neither the chairman nor the committee have the spirit to offer a prize to encourage us youngster?. Query—What has become of the balls, skipping-ropes, etc., that were lefc over at the anniversary ? We were led to believe that they were to be distributed among us as prizes.—l am, &c, A Member. Dunedin, August 20.
