The Mermaid, from Waikouaiti, passed up to Dunedin. . , , -r, • i. The Flying Squirrel, from Shag Point, arrived yesterday afternoon, having left at 11 ».m. She reports the Pioneer lying there unable to load in consequence of the heavy sea. As far as the shipping is concerned, the port is very quiet, the whole of the ships at the railway pier being already discharged. The barque Glenary and ship Araby Maid are nearly ballasted, and will sail for Newcastle in a few days.
