Auckland, August 14. Doctor Parsons is to be brought before the Magistrate at the Bay of Islands for seducing a Miss Christie, under pretence of subjecting her to a surgical operation. He also frequently physicked her in order to procure abortion. Parsons was medical officer at the Kawakawa mines, and is a married man. The girl Christie is a half-idiot. August 15. Thomas Carson, a laborer at Mercer, has determinedly committed suicide by cutting his throat. Drink was the cause.
