WASTE LAND BOARD.

There were present at to-day’s meeting of ! he Board, Messrs Thomson (in the chair), Butterworth, Bastings, Reid, and Clark. Mr George Cook, for Mr John Roberts, applied to postpone for six months the application for a pre-emptive right run 213b, in consequence of defect in power of attorney from the Bank of Australasia connected with gale to W. R. Roberts, Granted, Messrs Connell and Moodie, on behalf of F. E. French, applied for a lease for seven or fourteen years of section marked on the map is a quarry reserve, and adjoining section 27, block 1, Papakaio—quarry right to be reserved to the Government, Referred to the Ranger for report.

James Wright asked to withdraw an application for the exchange of an agricultural lease of section 2, block IV., Waipori. Agreed, Mr R. Paterson, for Thomas Pollock, applied to hare a transfer of Messrs Jackman and Inglis’s lease of Glenoamaru bush reserve sanctioned. Messrs Smith and Anderson, for Mr J. P. Kitehing, applied to have him declared the purchaser of sections 10 and 11, block 2, Ettrick. There being some difficulty m determining who was the actual pccupant pi the land, the matter was postponed for 3 week.

A letter was read from Mp W, Gardener, asking to be allowed to purchase ten acres at Mataura bridge, fpr a manse site, or to be allowed valuation whep. the land is offered for sale. It was agrped tq recqmrpeqd the Government to declare the land open for sale at Mataura bridge 5 the land to be surveyed into quarter apd dye apre sections, apt cording to position.
