CITY POLICE COURT.
Wednesday, August 13. (Before His Worship the Mayor ; and J. Black, Esq., J.P.) Drunkenness —George Marshall Binnie, convicted of this offence, was fined 40s, or in default seven days’ imprisonment, with hard labor. Infringements of the Bye-laws. Francis Gawn, riding on a dray drawn by eight horses on the Main South Road without sufficient reins was mulcted in the sum of 20s, together with costs ; Thomas Bverett, allowing two horses, his property, to wander on the Main South Road, was dismissed with a caution ; and for a second charge of a similar nature a fine of 10s and costs was imposed.—James Simpson, allowing five head of cattle to be at large, 10s and costs ; and John Barr, allowing one cow, his property, to stray, 2s 6d and costs.
