Queenstown.— The Lakes nomination takes place on the 16th inst., and the poll on the 19th.—The Victoria steamer, which sank near Chatto Creek, Boyes Bros.’ station, has been raised by the proprietor, Mr Howarth, and was unfortunate enough to get on shore at Kingston, but was again floated.—The Queenstown Rifle Corps have now their new uniforms. It is made from a nice grey Mosgiel tweed, with blaok cord and braid trimmings. The officers’ uniform is darker and very handsome.— M‘Caffrey’s Evening Star Company’s claim, Arthur’s Point, was put up for sale on Saturday (D. Powell and Co., auctioneers), -by order of the trustees, and bought in for L3OO. The liabilities are over LI, 100.
