The story that 3. man died frpm injuries received from the faljing pn the fork pf a eountry road is now denied. The estate of Sibster, in Caithness, has now, by the death of Mr David Bremner, fallen to tfie Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, for the foundation of a lectureship of archaeology in the University of Edinburgh. Mr Khind also left a sum of L5.00U for the foundation of two scholarships in the University, and L 7.000 for the establishment of an institution for the industrial training of orphan girls at Wick, which will now also come into operation. The estate of Sibster cost L 14,000 about twenty years ago, and is now expected to bring upwards of L3o,fKip. The following appeared in the Scot# Marjazine for 1764 “ February 9th, 1759. At luvermoriston, in the 80th year ot her age, Janet Cameron, daughter of Sir Kvan Cameron of Lochiel, and relict of John Grant of Glenmwriston, Esq , to whom she bore ten sous and live daughters. By these, who were all married, there were about 200 persons descended of her own body, most of whom wejre at her funeral. Her corpse was carried to the churchyard by her own children, grand-ohildren, great, and great-great-grape!* children.”
