A JOKE.
To the Editor, SIK, —Yesterday, during one of those furious gusts of hail, sleet, and wind, as 1 was ascending the steps of the Provincial Buildings, a paper with some writing on it attracted my attention. After a severe chase I finally captured that paper, and on it was written the following “Why is the sitting of the Pr vincial Council like an oyster supper at Jewitt’s ?” Answer: “Because it’s all Stout and Fish.” What can this mean ?—I am &c., Nemo, Dunedin, July 24.
