Commercial.

The amount of revenue received at the Cus-tom-house on goods cleared for consumption this day, was L3BO 14s 6d. DUNEDIN SHARE REPORT. Mr Frederick H. Evans reports that the business of the past week shows no diminution of confidence on the part of investors or speculators in the various local or Colonial jointstock companies at present doing business or likely soon to commence. South British Insurance Shares: Several transactions have taken nlace in these, at not loss than E2 Os ; many holders are “sticking out” for L2 10s. National Bank of New Zealand I have done at 6s premium, and Albion Coal shares arc in demand at 6s premium. Dunedin Waterworks are now offered at Lls 10s (to-day) and I anticipate reporting having made sales by this day week. Eorbury Park shares are inquired for at a good premium, but there are few sellers, Shotovers I have parted with readily at 6s 6d to 7s premium, but I suppose, from the very large dividend expected at the end of this month, holders think now that 8s premium is rather under the mark. It is certain that there is very good and reliable information in town regarding this splendid property, and I should not wonder to see even an increasing demand for this now stock. There are no transactions to report in quartz mining shaies, but there are fine investments to be made in water race companies, tbat command sure returns of monthly or quarterly dividends at a high rate of interest.
