The National Bank of New Zealand. This Company has been formed chiefly to supply what has been long felt as a great and increasing want in this community, viz., a first-class Morning Daily Paper, conducted on independent principles, in which the various public questions affecting the welfare of this Province and the Colony will bo fairly and impartially discussed, apart from all personal animus, and free from scurrility and abuse. In other words, the aim of the promoters is to produce a journal worthy of the first City in the Colony—a paper which settlers can transmit to their friends at Home with the conviction that it faithfully represents the public opinion of this large and thriving Province. The Provisional Directors having purchased the Copyright and business of the Morning Star, and a large proportion of the capital being already subscribed, they will be in a position to bring out the first number of the paper, which will be called The Gtago News, at an early date. The paper will be issued at a price which will bring it within the reach of every individual in the Province, and as such arrangements are being made as will give it the largest circulation in the Colony, it will thereby afford to Advertisers advantages which no other journal can offer. Applications for the balance of Shares can be made to Mr James Barr, Interim Secretary, at the temporary offices of the Company, High street. Ten shillings per share to be paid on application, and ten shillings on allotment. It is proposed to call up other twenty shillings, if required, spread over twelve months, and this, it is considered, will be sufficient to make the paper what the Provisional Directors believe it will turn out to be, a commercial success.
