Mercer reports for the week ending Juno 28:—Fresh batter, in i and 1 lb. prints, best au*li ty, Is 6d per lb.; second quality, Is 6d per j. Fresh butter, in lumps, Is 3d to Is 4d per lb.; powdered and salt butter, Is 3d per lb. Fresh butter is now getting scarce, and a considerable decrease in the quantity coming in. Salt'butter, in kegs, la Id to Is 2d per lb. for good samples, but not. much in demand. Cheese is very scarce, and prices still advancing; good quality Is per lb. Side and rolled bacon, smoked Or otherwise,' 9d to lOd per lb. Colonial ttm., Is to Is 2d per lb.; English hams, Is 9d per lb. On account of the advance in wages and flour, the 4lb loaf is now 7d. Eggs are now more plentiful, and retailing at, 2s per dozen. The above are retail prices only. [Bt Telegraph.] Christchurch, June 27.—The millers have established an advance of 10s per ton on flour, and a corresponding advance on wheat; quotation 4s 6d to 4s 7d. Oats are easier, owing to Melbourne advices, but prices are unaltered, Californian barley, 6s 9d; salt batter in demand in demand at Is. , Auckland, June 27.—Fresh butter.
