ELECTION INTELLIGENCE
It is reported (remarks the Southland Times) that, owing to an informality in the recent election for the Oteramika district, the validity of Mr Kinross’s return will be disputed, in which case it, is possible that Southland may yet have an opportunity of recovering to some extent the status in the Council which the abilities of the late members conferred upon the district. The formality of the Mat aura election, where Dr Manama has been returned without a contest, is also questioned. The following are the full returns of the polling at Makerewa;— Wilson. M ‘Arthur.
104 99 The complete returns of the Aparima election have not come to hand, but it is stated that the majority far Mr Gumming was eight, and that about 160 electors voted.
