Ihe family aud 1 heads of the wanderer now entertain uo doubt whatever tuat his mind has been temporarily aff cted by a too close application to business. At er the alleged confine* meat in Loudon Mr Rnodts appeared calm and collected, aud attended to bus ness as usual, only complain.eg occasionally of pains in the bead, lie had, inueed, drawn up a long aud iutrica e need on the day of his see nd departure, about a week s.nce, and he left home say.ng he was called by telegram to go to ' ouiuamptou on an important matter. When he had jie< n away two d&ys, his wife received a ratub iug, incoherent letter, in which he stated that when she received it the writer would be a dead man. INu efforts were spared to ascertain where he was and after being neard of in various places, be was, as stated, *t length discovered at Weymouth. Mrs Rhodes, with one of her daughters, burned! itely went to her husband, and took him back to ewport, where they arrived late on Thursday night. There is much commiseration felt for Mr Rhodes in his ueighboruood, where be was well known as a genial and highly respectable man. Mr Rhodes is a Rtt.e over titty, aud his friends believe that a tew month*’ rest will restore him to perfect health. The other missing gentleman who disappeared in Rondon, and was advertised for about the time Mr Rhodes was first mLsed, has not yet been heard of.
