(From the New Zealand Prm Association.) Wellington, Jane 12. In reply to the request of the Reception Committee that all the school children would take part in the Governor’s reception, the Rev. Father Cummins writes; —“That in the event of the Freemasons, so called, desiring to honor, as such, or being permitted to figure in the procession as such and in their regalia as Masons, I will strictly prohibit Catholics, both young and old, from taking part in it, or appearing in any demonstration where Masons, as such, are allowed and recognised.” The reply of the Committee was that it was hoped all classes of her Majesty’s subjects would unite to welcome her Majesty’s representative. _ The Free-* masons bad no intention of taking any part in the procession as a body.
