DUNEDIN REFUGE.

To the Editor. Sin,—'The Indies of the Committee fer the Dunedin Refuge are glad to state they art bow in a position to offer a home to those Who require tie sheltering care. We hare rented a house in Forth street—a most cheerful site—overlooking the bay, where the matron now resides, waiting to receive those wanderers whom we are so anxious to rescue. The present house contains seven rooms, besides a detached wash-house, the latter having been erected from the funds of . the Association, and oan be removed when required. The Committee, while expressing their sincere thanks to those friends who have so kindly responded to the call by the contributions of both money and goods, believe there are many who, upon knowing the kind of articles most wanted, will gladly offer their aid in this respect, and to enable them to do so, we append the following list: Sewing-machine, kitchen range, plain kitchen and bedroom furniture, hardware, bed and table linen, blankets, counterpanes, mattresses, pillows, &a ; also womens ana babies* clothing. The matron’s rooms aro ; famished, and sleeping accommodation ms- . * vidsd for one inmate, who, with her child, has been cared for by the Committee for the last fortnight. Wo desire to thank these who have promised goods as follows, vis,: Mr Burt, for copper boiler; Mr Hislop, horns kitchen table; Mr Pox.-SOyds flannel; Mr Little sen., one bag sugar; Mr Bawsy, lewt soap; Mrs Young, one pair blankets. We have to our credit at the hank ahnol! L2BO, but as our object isto build, we wish to expend as little as possible el the above sum in famishing. Contributors will nlcas* forward to the Refuge, or send notion to the Hon. Secretary, Mm Richard Allen, Sinter | House. .
