During the current year the Nelson Government propose to spend L 6,500 for charitable, aud LB.OOO for educational purposes. Speaking of the Legislative Council, the Haivke's Bay Herald declares that “it is utterly out of the question to suppose that the country will tolerate so preposterous an anachronism as a body of nominated lawgivers, much longer.”
