ODDFELLOWSHIP IN VICTORIA.

Odd Fellowship is making extraordinary progress in Victoria. The last statistics furnished to the brethren show that there are thirteen districts in the Colony, in which districts there are altogether 152 lodges. The total number of members on the roll is 12,412, of whom 11,727 are down as “good on the books.” 1872 the number increased by 603. The receipts from all sources during the year amounted to L 47.600 6s, and the expenditure to 139,826 Us scl, leaving a profit on the year’s transactions of L 7,773 10s Bd. The receipts have been steadily increasing during the last seven years. In 1866 they amounted to L 38,281. The expenditure has also steadily increased since 1866, in which year it was L 30,726. During 1872 the various lodges paid away for sick pay L 12.392 T7s 10u; for funeral donations L2 342 2a Bd. and for medical attendance L 12.617 16s 9d ; and L 2,216 9s sdis down as “advance for funeral donation.” The amount of L 10,275 3s 9d went in general and other expenses during the same year. At the end of 1872 the total amount of lodge funds was L 131,945. The total has steadily increased since 1866, 91 which year it was L 80,297. 4t the end of 1871 it was L 124,995. The profits during the last twelve months, therefore, were L 6.950. At the end of 1872, the amount due by the incidental expenses fund to the sick and funeral fund was L 3.040 Is fid. In 18G6, the amount due by the former fund to the latter was L 2,985 16s. During the seven years, therefore, instead of the ill-looking debt diminishing, it has increased by L 54 5s 6d. The debt, however, was less at the end of 1872 than at the end of 1871, when it was L 3,111. In eighty-seven of the lodges, the incidental expenses fund is indebted to the sick and funeral fund.
