Drunkenness. —Ah xander Dodd, charged with being drunk in Great King street, at 3 ‘2O p.m. ou the 7th instant, not appearing, was fined in the amount of his bail (40s), in default twenty-four hours’ imprisonment with hard labor. Duncan M‘Donald and Harry Tracey, similar offences, were each fined ss, with the usual alternative. Maintenance. —lsabella Lyle, on warrant from the Christchurch Bench, was charged with deserting her illegitimate child at Christchurch on the 3rd ultimo. She was ordered to pay 8s per week into the Court every Monday, Assault. —Powdlev. Dodds, and Dossetb v. Wilson, trivial assault cases, were dismissed.
Bye law Cases —William Little, riding Ids horse across the footwav in Filled street, was fined 2s fid ; James Bussell and Anne Diamond, erecting buildings, without giving notice in writing to the City Council, each ss; Michael Gorman, leaving his horse and cab unattended in Hiyb street, 10s and costs.
