TENDERS are invited by the Colonial Government for the construction of Railway between Tokomairiro and Lawrence —a distance of 22 miles. The Line is divided into five Sections, and tenders will be received for any of them, or for the whole Railway in one Contract, Drawings and Specifications may be seen at the Public Works Offices, Dunedin and Wellington, on and after Monday, the 21st instant. Written Tenders, addressed to the Minister for Public Works, and marked outside, “ Tender for the Tokomairiro and Lawrence Railway”; or, “Tender for the Contract of the Tokomairiro and Lawrence Railway ” —will be received at this Office 4 p.m on Wednesday, the 21st May, 1873. Treasury, Wellington, Bth April, 1873, TENDERS are invited for the purchase of the whole or any portion of Two hundred and Fifty thousand Pounds, New Zealand Government Debentures, issued under the Acts of the Legislature of the Colony, entitled The immigration and Public Wqrks Lpan, Act, 1870,” and “ The Defence and Other Purposes Loan Act, 1870,” subject to the under-mentioned conditions 1. The Debentures will be payable to Bearer, and will bp issued in sums of not less than One Hundred Pounds each. 2i The Debentures, which are secured on the Consolidated Revenue of the Colony, will bear interest at the rate of 4 per cent per annum, payable half-yearly, on the |sth day of April and the 15th day of October in each year, at tho Bank of New Zealand at Auckland, New Plymouth, Wellington, Napier, Nelsou, Blenheim, Christchurch, Greymouth, Hokitika, Dunedin, or Invercargill. 3. The principal sum will be payable on the 15th day of April, 1913, at the Treasury at Wellington, or at any Branch of the Bank of New Zealand, in New Zealand, at the option of the holder, six months’ notice being required, previous to maturity, of the place at which payment will be required. 4. Tenders will be opened at the Treasury at Wellington at noon on Friday, the ninth clay of May next, in the presence of such of the tenderers as desire to be present—the minimum price under spa! bpipg first placed on the table,.
