The p.s, Snmson, for Oamaru, and the s.s. Pretty Jane, for Timaru, both sailed this moniThe ketch Flying Squirrel, with a of Kaitangata coal', arrived this morning. She left there last Monday, and experienced light easterly weather along the coast. The Storm Bird, from the Bluff, arrived m Port Chalmers this morning at 11.30. She left on Thursday evening at five o’clock, and experienced easterly weather along the coast. We thank her steward for our Southern files. The Maori returned from her northern trip at 12.30 p.ra. to-day, and steamed alongside the railway pier. Captain Malcolm reports leaving Lyttelton last Wednesday at 4 p.m., and arrived at Akaroa at 10.30 p.m. ; left the same night at 11.30, and arrived at Timaru yesterday morning at 8 o’clock; loft at 10 p.m , arriving here as above. Fine weather was experienced during the whole passage. We thank her steward for our Lyttelton files.
