Under the Bill power is given to the Victorian Legislature to enact laws remitting and imposing import duties as regards other Colonics, ouch power being impartially exercised infercolonially. Dufaure, Minister of Justice, refused to receive the Committee’s report, expressing the views of the Conservatives, and easting censure on the Government. M. A large public meeting was held here last night, protesting against a bridge being built at Frankton Fads. A strong petition was prepared in favor of the bridge being built at Morveu Ferry. The action of the representatives in the matter was condemned. A vote of want of confidence in Mr Halleustein, M.H.R., was carried.
