Tomlinson v. Calcutt. —LI7 Is 9d, for storage. Judgment by default for the plaintiff, with costs. Mrs Pi!ton v. Bates.-LG, for damages done to clothes. Prom the evidence it appeared that the defendant nad lived six years with the complainant, and that, for some reason, he had broken open one of her boxes, taking out the clothe i and destroying them. Damage to the amount of L 8 was done, which defendant agreed to pay by instalments of L2 each. Only one instalment bad been paid, and. plaintiff sought to recover the balance. Judgment was given for the amount. T ,„ . , A. Geddes v. J. A. South.—bill Bs, for money lent to the ilcfondiiut and nis aviio. For the defence it was stated that tho money was advanced by plaintiff as treasurer of a Theatrical Company, of which Mr South was a member, and that therefore it was not owing to him as a private debt, Mr Geddes produced 10 IPs acknowledging the receipt of the money, and in his evidence said that when he had paid all the charges of the Company ho \v«uld have paid much more than ho had received. J ndgmont for the plaintiff for L 5 17s and costs. In the following eases, judgment was given for the plaintiffs by default : —Macfarlano v. Williams, Li 2s-Id; Macfarlane v. fSnowden, L 8 7s lOd ; and Brown v. Whyte, L 7 8s Oil. Geddes v. Hydes was postponed to Friday, as the def, ndant did not appear. A -warrant was ordered to be issued for his apprehension.
