The amount of revenue received at the Cus-tom-house on goods cleared for consumption this day, was L 241 0s 2d.

Wheat is now being offered more freely. Buyers are securing parcels at from 4s 6(1 to 4s Bd. The grain is generally of an excellent quality. For flour there exists a brisk trade demand ; town millers quote Lll 10s for sacks, and Ll2 10s for bags. The market is still unsettled in oats, and a reliable quotation can scarcely be given ; sellers are asking very high rates, but most of the buyers are unwilling to secure more than an ordinary trade quantity. The transactions this week have been limited. Barley has buyers for good malting at 7s to 7s 3d, and for inferior at 5s 6d. There has been more offered this week. Potatoes are inquired for, and any of a good quality will find purchasers at L 3, Oatmeal, Llo ; pearl barley, L3O; bran, L 4 ; pollard, L 5 ; hay, L 3; straw, L2 ; chaff. L 3 ss. A Mercer reports for the week ending April 12; -Fresh butter in hVo. and 11b. prints, best quality, Is 2d to Is 3d per lb., second quality Is to Is Id ; nosh butter, in lumps, lid to Is; powdered and good salt butter, Is per lb. The supply of fresh butter has fallen off to some extent, which is the cause of the advance iu the price. Salt butter in keg, for good quality, lOd to lid, and good samples are sought after. There is a good demand for cheese, and really good samples are scarce ; for good quality, 9d to lOd per lb. Side and rolled bacon, 9d to lOd per lb. Good Colonial hams are scarce and in good demand at Is to Is 2d per lb. English hams are in request, but none in the market. Eggs are in great demand this week and very scarce, and could coin* mand any price—prices ruling at 2s 3d to 2s Od per dozen.
