REGINA V. RYAN.
To the Editor.
Sir, —Having read Detective Farrell’s evidence in your paper of last evening, I was quite surprised to see that he swore I wrote to the Daily Times to contradict the eviderce I gave at Reich el t’s trial. 1 beg to state that lie swore to what was not true; and I am sorry a public officer should have such a defective memory 7. What I wrote to contradict was that I received compensation from Reichelt; nor was I going to occupy the rooms over his shop. Now, that letter I can produce in print; if Farrell can produce otherwise, let him do so. What I swore at Reichelt’s trial 1 am willing truthfully to swear over again. In reference to the key, Mrs Howard was not present, Detective Farrell got the key from Lydia Perkins, in the presence of Sergeant O’Keefe, Mr Ran ddph ( reagh, and myself. Other proofs I can give if required.—l am, &c , M. C. Cane.
