Acckland, April 9, In the Supreme Court to-day, James Wilsou, for stealing from the person, was sentenced to 12 mouths’ imprisonment; Thomas Kennedy, for robbery, to 12 months’; Robt, Hagan, for stealing froin the person, six months’ ; and Peter Carroll, for rape on a girl ten years of age, to penal servitude for lift?.
Qokenstowx, April 10. Three stacks of wheat were consumed by fire on Vincent’s farm, Miller’s Flat, on the Ist inst. The supposed origin is ihat at the Chinese gathering, which took place in a scrub one hundred feet distance, some one threw away a lighted match, asd the sparks from the burning scrub fyll jpear the stacks.
