It is not unlikely Air Gisborne will rejoin the Ministry as Colonial Secretary, with a seat in the Legislatve Council. It is also said that a seat in the Cabinet has been offered to the Hon. Air Stokes. It is doubtful whether the Nebraska will not return to San Francisco.

The s.s. Wanganui has been bought by Ale Henry Houghton, of Dunedin, for LS,SOQ; and the s.s, St. Raid a by tyH Dayidson, of Wanganui, for LI, 750.

Chjjistchurph, April 8. At the Supreme Court, to-day, M‘ Donald and Morris, for robbery with violence, were sentenced to three years’ imprisonment each; George Fleethorse, for stealing, six mouths’ ; Francis Wrann and Charles Dee, for larceny, twelve months’ each. In the cafe of Albert Robert S targe, for forgery, sentence was deferred. Alfred Pinsett, charged with indecent assault, was sentenced to twelve months’ imprisonment.
