Wanoanui, April 2. At an extraordinary meeting of the shareholders of the Wanganui Steam Company to-day, a resolution in favor of the voluntary winding up of its affairs was carried by 23 to 5, The steamers will accordingly be sold. Messrs Houghton and Co., of Dunedin, have offered L 8,150 for the Wanganui. Nelson, April 3. Mr A. J. Richmond is a candidate for the seat for Nelson Suburbs, resigned by Mr Ralph Richardson, who proceeds to England.
