The amount of revenue received at the Cus-tom-house on goods cleared for consumption to-day, was L 963 14s.
Oamarii. —Messrs Tleming find Hedley report that they held a sale of grain by auction at their stores, Tyne street, on Saturday last. Ihe prices realised for the different lots were as follows :—Wheat: 000 Imshels, 4s 4d; 100 hushes 4s 4d • 1,000 bushels, 4s 4.U1 (smutty); 2,800 bushels, 4s Ud ; 3,800 bushels, 4s 4yd ; 000 bushels, 4s 4jd; 500 bushels 4s 3,d ; 1,300 bushels, 4s 4d; I,J>OO bushels, 4s 3,hi, 000 bushels, 4s 41, d; 800 bushels, 4s 3Ad ; wheat, kiln-dried, HO bushels, 0s 3d; do seconds,l4o bushels, 3s Id. barley: 1,000 bushels, 0s 7d ; 2,000 Imshels, 7s 0d : 350 bushels, 0s 3d ; barley kiln-ilned, 70 bushels, 3s 7d; seconds, lo) bushels 5s 2d. Oats : 400 bushels, long Tartarian, 2s lid ; 400 bushels, short Tartarian, 3s Id ; 800 do, 3s Id; 800 do, 3s Id ; 1,000 do, 3s l.Vd; 1,000 do, 3s. This was the largest sale pver held in the district, and attracted bidders
from Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin, as well as local buyers. The competition wap spirited, as the rates above given will show. 1 lit total amount realised was close upon L;>,ooo. Time ft, Ist inst.
