Sir,—ln the Echo of 22nd ult. appeared a paragraph having reference to Mr J. C. Bnown and his connection with Mr Bastings. In same paper of Ist imt. appears an unqualified denial by Mr Brown of the statements therein contained —the business is none of mine at prosent; only I hear from different sources by yesterday's mail that the paragraph referred to is attributed to me. Permit me emphatically to deny the authorship of the paragraph, and while so doing, to regret that if the denial of Mr J. C.
