THE DUNEDIN BAND OF HOPE.
To the Editor.
Sin, —I take a deep interest in the above institution, as also the Momingtou one, and it has occurred to me as very strange that a committee of the Dunedin society have got into a bungle regarding their entertainment, which will probably make it as much a failure as the Times reported the Mornington concert lately to be. First of all the public were advertised (rira voce) of an intended concart to be held in the Wesleyan Hall, on the 14th inst. But, it appears, the Dunedin Band of Hope committee had “reckoned witjiout their host,” and in consequence of such prematurity, tire society announced—by programmes and tickets—that the concert would be instead, on the 21st, in same place. D.Y, was not inserted on the programmes, and the result is chaos mixed with confusion, and double confusion arising; this time it was announced from the rostrum (I believe), and from some few programmes issued with place of concert corrected from Wesleyan to Oddfellows’ Hall, in manuscript. 1 should be glad to see the secretary or the president explain this unmitigated bungle, —1 am, &c,, Teetotal Charlie, Dunedin, March IV.
