[By Telegraph.] TOKOMAIRIRO RACES. The Tokomairiro races commenced to-day. The weather was line, and the attendance was good. The Maiden Plate was won by Mabel, with Borneo second ; time, 2m. 27Asec. ; the District Handicap by Tambonrini, with Awatea second ; the Trotting Pace by M ‘Laren’s Thaw ; the Hack Race by C< ombe’s Specimen ; and the Flying Handicap by Catapult, Hatred being a good second. IX VERC A RGI LL RAC ES. There was a good attendance at the races to-day, and Ihe weather was fine. The Maiden Plate was won by Douglas’s Kuritoa, Smith’s May Day being second, and Mitchell’s peculation third. The Town Plate fell to Paterson’s Stackpole, Ward’s Lyndon being second, and Lawson’s Firetail third. The Ladies’ Purse was won by Smith’s May Day, Lawrie’s Don Pedro being second, and Hawsley’s Young Leamington third. WELLINGTON RACES. The races took place to-day, the weather being fine, and the attendance good. The Maiden Plate was won by Bed wood’s Simplicity, Steeltrap being second. The Jockey Club Plate was won by Redwood’s Malonia, Little Wonder being second ; the Wellington Plate by Redwood’s Malonia, Southern being second ; and the Ladies’ Purse by Bedwoad’s Simplicity. THE LAUNCESTON RACE MEETING. Champion Cup, of MOO sova, with a sweep of 15 so vs added. Weight for age. Three miles. T. J. Ryan’s b c Leo, 3 yrs, 7st Gib (Grubb) 1 P. Lewis’s b c Blue Peter, 3 yrs, 7st 1 lib (including 51b penalty) (W, JEnderson) ...... 2 S. Blackwell’s b m Merrytocs, 4 yrs, Bst 91b .... (S. Davis) 3 W. Field’s b g Strop, aged, 9st 71b (W. Hockcn) 0 Betting: 5t04 on Leo, Gto 4 against Bine Peter, 4 to 1 Strop and Merrytoes. Blue Peter was first away, with Strop, Merrytoes, and Leo following, the pace being very moderate. In the second mile Strop and Merrytoes got closer to Peter, still the order past the stand remained the same, except that .''drop was close with Peter. Entering the third mile Leo drew up, and before reaching the dip had taken second place. Ascending the hill home Leo closed with Peter, and a head and head race ensued, Peter declining only at the stand, when Leo left him and won by half a length, Merrytoes a bad third, two lengths before Strop. Time, smin 59sec.
