THE SOUTHERN RECREATION GROUND.
To the Editor.
Sin,—ln reply to “ Long-slip’s” remarks in yours of the i(h, I think he is rather severe on the Kensington people as being opposed to part of tire Recr-.ation Ground being set apart for cricket. He makes a great mistake when he calls us unreasonable obstructionists ; wc have as much right to the ground as anyone eLe, and can walk where we please. There is one tiling Kensington has done, and that is getting the ditch ebaued out when no member of either Cricket Club bad the pluck t) bring the matter forward. Now, I suppose “Longslip ” would like the honor of being the instigator of the movement. Well, he has a chance of doing something useful; let him direct his attention to the Hood-gates, and get them properly cleaned out, and that will do more good to the ground than ail the harm the “Kensington obstructionists” do by walking over it. Kensington Oval, Dunedin, March G.
