We understand that Sir David Munro .addresses his constituents on Thursday evening. The eldest child was about five years of age, the second three, and the third about sixteen months. The cause of the fire is supposed to be the ignition of some bask and light wood, which had been put in the fireplace to dry to light the next morning’s fire. The parents are now homeless and childless.

Chiavini's circus company arrived by the Taranaki yesterday, and will make their first appearance this evening. Judging by the reports in the Northern papers, an excellent entertainment will be given.

We have been reques ed to state by tbe lamplighters of seven years’ standing, that the lamplighter “ Frank,” mentioned in our report of Elizabeth Clarke v. hj arriiigton, was only two months m the service.

The performing members of the Dunedin Choral Society are requested to meet at the University Hall on iVlonday evening, at 8 o’clock, for the rehearsal of Sir Michael Costa’s “Eli,” which will form the subject of the uext concert.
