Should any of the home vessels be near the land, they ought to be showing up after the the strong southerly winds that have prevailed lately. Some of them will probably be heard of during the week. , The Wallabi went out last night for Port Molyneux. The Samson passed through this morn ng on her way to Oamaru. The Stormbird sails to-night for the Bluff. The barque Helena, which is loading part cargo of wool here for Boston, has taken on hoard 700 bales. She requires 1,300 more to finish her. . The fore-and-aft schooner Jessie heat up the harbor yesterday morning from Hokitika, but was obliged to bring up off the Islands, _ there being too much win 1, She reports leaving on the 10th inst., and had a fine wind and a splendid run as far as Capo Campbell, and has experienced a succession of westerly gales ever since. The schooner Mary Van Every, which left here a short time ago bound for Hokitika, was seen off Cape Farewell Spit; and the Cleopatra was spoken off Otago Heads, and wished to be reported fourteen days out from Lyttelton, bound to the Bluff.
