Correspondence.
[We are not responsible for the opinions expressed by our correspondents.] To the Editor. Sir, —In reply to the local in the issue of the Star of this morning, I beg to state that I offered to run Fox my own distances for MOO. He would not run for more than LSO. It would not pay me to go in training for that amount. And if he will be at the Empire Hotel this evening, I shall be there ready to make a match for LldO, and will not back out of it In the answer to my challenge he states that he would run me from 100 yards to a mile, for from LSO to L2OO ; and I think it nothing but fair that he should accept my challenge to run for LIOO, but if he cannot find more than LSO to give the public satisfaction to see which is the best man. I will run him for that amount after the Tuapeka meeting, where my business calls. —1 am, Ac., A. Drake.
