The brigantine Swnrdfrih, from Hobartown, arrived off the Heads yesterday evening, and wa-j towed np by the Geelong and placed alongside the Railway Pier, in the Thomas and Henry’s berth. The Swordfish conies via Port Esperance, which she left on the 15th ; had westerly winds up to the 19th inst., when she experienced a strong gale from S.S. W<» and hove-to for 12 hours; next morning the wind moderated, when she was able to resume her course ; the Solanders were passed at midnight on the 21st, came through Foveaux Straits on the 22nd. and arrived off the Heads as above. M’Meehan Blackwood, and Co.’s steamer Albion arrived from the Bluff at 4.45 am. today. She reports leaving Hobson’s Bay on the 18th; cleared Port Phillip at 6 pm.; passed Swan Island at 2pm. on the following day; experienced light east and north-east winds the first two days, jthen li;ht variable winds until nearing the land. Arrived at the Bluff at 9 a.m. on the 23rd ; discharged cargo and sailed at 5 p.m. the same day, arriving at Port Chalmers as above. Since her last trip from here she has had a regular overhaul. On arrival she steamed alongside the Railway Pier. We thank purser Morris for files. M'Meckan, Blackwood, and Co.’s steamer Rangitoto arrived shortly after the Albion coming up the bay at 3 a.m. She left Hobson s Bay at 5 p.m. on the 9th, and cl ared the Heads at 7.30 p.m. ; experienced strong head winds for the first three days, afterwards S. W. winds until arrival off Hokitika at 6 a.m. on the 15th ; left again at noon on the 16th, and Greymouth at 3 p.m., arriving in Nelson at 10.30 a.m. on the 17th; left again at 9.30 a.m. on the 18th, and arrived in. I’ictou «vt 5.30 p.m. the same day; left Picton at 6.30 p.m., and arrived in Wellington at 1 p.m. ; left Wellington at 2.30 p.nb on the 21st, and arrived at Lyttelton at 8.45 a.m. on the 22nd ; left again at G. 30 p.m., and arrived off Timaru at 6.30 a.m. on the 23rd ; left again at 6.30 p.m., and arrived at Port Chalmers as above. We thank her purser for Melbourne and Northern files. She leaves again this evening. ______
