The steam propeller Idaho, thirteen days from Honolulu, with the Colonial mails and passengers, readied port in due course. The Ajax, also in Webb’s Now Zealand line, is announced for the 9th inst., taking the place of the Dakota, now fully due at this port. The Ajax will run through to the Colonics, stopping at Honolulu for coal and water. This line has at length been incorporated, under the laws of New York, and the stock taken by seven persons four in New York and three in California. The New York directors consist. 0 f 'Win. H. Webb (president), Theo. F. Wood, and others whose names are not yet known to us ; the 1 'aliforuian directors are, Lloyd Tevis (vice-president), i>. D. Mills, and S. F. Lutterworth. These names represent considerable capital and business energy, that will command success, [lerctotorc this steamship lino, commonly called Webb’s, has been run under great discouragements ; but wc hope the arrival of the Dakota at this port will he a, turning-point for ultimate success. The Honolulu papers, as well as our own, contain complimentary notices from the passengers of the steamship Nebraska, to Captain Harding, which is conclusive as far as it applies to that branch of the service ; and when the line is once completed, with the full complement of A I American steamers, like those of the Nevada, Nebraska, and Dakota, we feel sure that the American flag will wave triumphantly oyer the line.-Naff- Francisco Commercial Adver/iscr.
