At Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co.’s sale this afternoon, in the Provincial Yanis, a large number of horses were offered, but buyers were not numerous. _ The horses that were disposed of were principally saddle and light bar - ness animals, and prices obtained for them showed no alteration from last week s quotations. Australian samples are unsaleable at any price ; for good Provincial, L 4 is the value. There is a good inquiry Jot wheat—the market price may be quoted at os .Id, but as there is none offering, a fixed value cannot be placed on it. At auction some 800 bags brought extreme rates—nearly equal to 6s on the ordinary trade terms. This price must be attributed to the scarcity of the gram, and not to its market value, for flour would require to be Llo to Lls 10s if this were the current rate. Second class wheat is plentiful, fowls wheat scarce. Oats, dull, 2s to 2s 2d. No barley offering. Malting is valued at bs 6d; damaged, 5s 6d: hay, L 3 lbs: chaff, L 3 15s ; straw, L2 us. A.
