M. Vial, of Paris, has devised a process of printing on cotton or silk, which has some novelty, and promises to be of practical utility. The material is first washed over with a solution of the nitrate, or other salt, of silver ; then a coin, a medal, or a metal design, in relief, is placed upon it, and the design is produced by a deposit of silver iu black lines in the fabric.
