MAYOR’S COURT.
Yesterday. (Before his Worship the Mayor and the Hon, Dr Buchanan, j.P.) BYE-T.A W CASES, Vincent Ahnao, obstructing the road at Anderson's Bay, by allowing his horse to graze there, was fined 5s and costs ; Robert M'Millan, allowing his horse to -wander in Great King street, 2s 6d and costs; T. I hippie and -I. IScott, allowing the Company’s water to run lu waste, 2a 6(1 and costs each ; Daniel Tierney, charged with taking the water .supplied by the above Company to one Edward Hogan, landlord of the Golden Ago Hotel, was let ofl' with a caution, Mr Niraon saying he did not see the boy take the water, hut saw him go down with the buckets, and when he got down he was standing by the tap with empty buckets. Ho had only brought the charge as a warning. The Bench said if a similar charge were brought a heavier line than usual would be inflicted. Edward Hogan was charged with allowing the last defendant to take the water from his tap. The ease was withdrawn, the Bench cautioning and telling him he w r as liable to a line of LIO. —Frederick Scaiie, neglecting to keep a light burning on building material in Walker street, was fined 2s Od and costs. —Frank M‘Orath and Martin King wore charged with unlawfully blasting rock on the Andorsi n’s Bay Beach road without permission from the local authority. Mr Harris, for defendants, said they were partners in a contract under the Provincial Government to lay metal on the Beach Road, and it was an oversight on their partin not applying for authority. The Bench recommended the defendants, as complaints had been made to the Government about the blasting operations, to be extremely careful in future, and dismissed the case. Tins Dav. (Before His Worship the Mayor and the Hon. Dr. Buchanan, j.P.) DRUNKENNESS. Ann Cheese was charged with the above, but it being her first offence was lot off with a cautiou.
obscene language. Susannah Philips, an old offender, was, for 1 tho above offence, fined in the full penalty of , LlO or three months’ imprisonment. BYE-LAW C VSE. Francis Bromley, for driving thirty head of cattle without the restricted hours, was lined 10s and costs.
