The match between thp Dpijc>-]in Volunteer Artillery and the"A' Gompapy of the Lpmlop Scottish Vpluufieeps has now been jjrcd by both companies, Tim conditions were seven shuts at 2UO, 501) and GUO yards, Wimbledo# targets and position, no sighting shots, Government rifles and ammunition, &e. r ihe insult, which depended upon two competitions of each team, is in lavor of the Artillery, owing chiefly to their good shooting jn the second competition. At the first competition of the English t ea W> the weather iya§ cold’with a gusty Jfiud. and attj,e second they ljad fine weather with a‘light wipd ami variable light i amt their total set res may he looked upon as fair average ones. At the lirst competition of the Artillery, the weather was lino with a variable wind and light, and at the second competition it was all that could be desired, and was turned to good account, as the subjoined scores will show. The highest scorer for the LondonScottish is Lieut. Tanqueray with 05 in the second competition, and the highest scorer for the Artillery is Gunner T. Muir, with the splendid score of 71, also in the second competition, and which, on the above conditions, is unmatched ip thp Colony. Maj<r AtJunsoii (Stalk) and Lieut Lepry (N.D.) officiated for the Dome 1 Company, and the former, after the fifing, opened their scorps, which had hepp sent put, and wluph show the Artillery winners of tlie match by 80 points.
