This Day, (Before E. ff. Ward and James Brown, Esqrs , J.F.’s.) DRUNKENNESS. Bridget Keane, an old ollendor, was sentenced to fourteen days’ imprisonment. RYE-LAW CASES. Wm. Fisher, whose ease was adjourned from yesterday, w'as charged with haying an unregistered dog in his posseaHon. 'ihouias Cotton said the present defendant took the dog up the country with him about a month ago. He took the dog out of the waggon, and the next day defendant took it again. He did not consider the dog was Fisher’s till he paid for it. —F. V. Godso said he did not remember asking defendant in Cottons, about three weeks ago, if he was not sorry that he had not the dog. - Fox :He saw Cotton’s boy in the waggon with the dog in his lap. He heard Cotton ask for a pound, which Fisher would not give. The dog was in the waggon in Noah’s Ark Stables yard, and Cotton took it away. He never knew the dog was in Fisher’s possession after that. The Bench said the dog was undoubtedly in Cotton’s possession when the information was laid, because the whole of the evidence showed that the 'defendant was not to have th? dog till the pound was paid. The case would, therefore, be dismissed against Fisher, Whatever Cotton or his witnesses swore previously, it appeared to them the dog was potton’s. '
