Mr Josiah Mason, the Birmingham philanthropist, and founder of the great orphanage at Erdinj-ton, is about to endow a college at Birmingham for the teaching of practical science, A man named Flynn, who was sentenced to be hanged for a murder he committed at Oldham, died in Manchester Gaol, having literally starved himself to death. Force had been used in order to get him tp take food, but without effect.
