CORPORATION NOTICES. Municipal • corporation of PORT CHALMERS. PROPOSED BYE-LAW No. 1, Under the “ Municipal Corporations Act. 1867,” published for general information under the provision of section ISO of said Act, preparatory to its being subsequently considered by the Town Council. Bye-laws of the Council of the Town of Port Chalmers, made under part 13 of the “ Municipal Corporations Act, 18G7.” In pursuance of the powers and provisions contained in section 181, part 13, of the “Municipal Corporations Act, 1867,” the Council of the Town of Port Chalmers ordain as follows, that is to say : Ist. The whole of the subdivisions of the Ist, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, sth, 6th, Sth, flth, and 11th parts; and subdivisions 1 and 2 of the 7th part ; and subdivisions 2. 3, 4, and 5 of the lOth part of the 13th schedule of the said Act, are hereby adopted in and for the said Town of Port Chalmers, and for and on behalf of the said Corporation. 2nd. The following Bye-laws heretofore existing are hereby repealed, that is to say : The Bye-law numbered 1, intituled “ A Bye-law to Regulate the Driving of Horses and Horned (tattle through the Town of Port Chalmers.” The Bye-law numbered 2, intituled “A Bye-law to prevent the Stacking of Hoy or Straw, and to Regulate the Storage of the same within the Town of Port Chalmers.” The Bye-law numbered 3, intituled “ A Bye-law for compelling the Removal of Waste Water and Impurities from Cellars and other places within the Town of Port Chalmers. ” The Bye-law numbered 4, intituled “A Bye law to prevent the mischiefs arising from the Making of Fires in the Open Air in the Town of Port Chalmers.” The Bye-law numbered 5, intituled “ A Bye law to prevent the mischiefs arising from Fires in Chimney Flues in the Town of Port Chalmers.” 'I he Bye-law numbered 6, intituled “A Bye-law to Prohibit Rubbish or other Matter being deposited within the Town of Port Chalmers, excepting at the places determined upon by the Town Council.” The Bye-law numbered 7, intituled “ A Byc-law to regulate the Sale by Weight or Measure of xMarketablo Commodities within the Town of Bort Chalmers, and to define f b bon■ ib-ring which cc-tain of such comr.’oditie’- ma\ be exposed for sale” The Bye-law numbered 8, intituled “A Bye law for the Licensing and Regulating Wagrons and other Vehicles, and the owners, drivers, and conductors thereof; and for regulating the sale and exposure for sale of liay, straw, coals, firewood, and water within the Town of Port Chalmers.” The Byelaw numbered 9, intituled “Crossing over Footways and Channels, save by made crossings.” The Bye-law numbered 10, intituled “ Hoarding and Fence.” The Bye-law numbered 11, intituled “Regulation of Proceedings of Council, Officers, &c ”

PROPOSED BYE-LAW No. 2. Byc-law of the Council of the Town of Port Chalmers, made under section 186 of the “ Municipal Corporations Act, 1867.” A Bye-law to provide for the better Rule and Government of the Town of Port Chalmers. In pursuance of the powers and provisions contained in section 186 of part 13 of the “ Municipal Corporations Act, 1867.” The Council of the Town of Port Chalmers ordain as follows, that is to say Any person guilty of any of the following offences, omissions, or neglects, within the Town of Port Chalmers, shall, on being convicted of any such offence, neglect, or omission, lie liable to pay any penalty not exceeding (L 5) live pounds : Ist. Throwing any glass, filth, dirt, rubbish, or other matter of a similar nature, upon any street, footway, court, alley, or public place whatsoever. 2nd. Riding, driving, leading, or wheeling any barrow, cart, dray, or carriage, upon or along any footpath w'ithout permission from the Town Council to do so. 3rd. Placing any timber, bricks, stones, or other building materials, upon any footway, channel, surface drain, or carriage road, without such permission as aforesaid. 4th. Burning any shavings, straw, or other materials or matter upon any footway, carriage road, or open or public place, without such permission as aforesaid. Sth, Leaving any inflammable materials or matter in any public shed or place, or on any open space near auy building, without such permission as aforesaid. 6th. Drawing or trailing any sledge, timber, or other material, upon any footway or carriage road, to the injury of such footw ay or carriage road. 7th. Emptying any privy or cesspool, ©r carting away any night soil, or other offensive matter, w'ithout having a license from the Town Conned of Port Chalmers so to do. Stii. Allowing any night soil or other offensive matter to be spilt or otherwise cast on to or upon any road, street, footway, public place, or thoroughfare. 9th. Allowing the droppings from the eaves of any house to fall upon any footway. lOth, Placing auy placard or other document, writing, or painting on, or otherwise defacing any house, or building, or any w'all, fence, lamp post, railway post, or gate, w'ithout the consent of the occupier or owner thereof. 11th. Opening any drain or sewer, or removing the surface of any footway or carriage road, without authority from the Town Council to do so. 12th. Neglecting to clean any private yard, way, passage, or avenue, by which neglect a nuisance, by offensive smell or otherwise is caused. 13th. Rolling any cask, beating auy carpet, breaking-in any horse, flying any kite, using any bow's and arrows, or playing at any game, j to the annoyance of any person, in any public place, or obstructing any footpath or carriage road, whether by allowing any cart or animal to remain across such footpath or carriage road, or by placing goods thereon, or otherwise. 14th. Throwing dr discharging any stone or other missile, to tho damage or danger of any person or property.
