Auckland, November 2. A man named Patrick Reardon, while suffering from a fit of delirium tremens, com* mitted suicide by tying round his neck-a rope with a lump of iron at the end of it, and jumping into the water. Samoan news reports the partial cessation of fighting, and a scarcity of provisions.
Napier, Nor. 2. The Rifle Volunteers gave a grand pic nic yesterday, which was well attended, and was a great success. The charge against Josiah Hamlin, Native Interpreter, for robbery of Native lands, for which the license was cancelled, was not sustained. The license has been returned.
